Four events talking about Unit Testing in Visual Studio 2012

Last July and in the previous week I found myself talking about Visual Studio 2012's unit testing features in four different events. There's the Hacking your way to building Windows 8 Metro Style Apps with XAML and C# event in Microsoft Philippines, a mini seminar for College of Computer Studies students at DLSU, a lightning talk at DevCon at Y4IT 2012 and the Visual Studio 2012 Community Launch at Microsoft Philippines.

I'll be blogging next about how to actually use NUnit and Selenium in Visual Studio 2012.

hi! Gusto ko matutong mag program using windows visual studio 2012, para kasi pakiramdam ko na ito na susunod na standard na mobile computing. Kaya ko nasabi yan kasi ang windows 8 os can also be use with a desktop computer. unlike iOS (though, i love apple but cant afford it) na sa mobile palang. Siguro ang hinahanap natin yung a cross breed between desktop and mobile computing tulad ng iooffer ngayon ng microsoft.

So advise me naman pano ako matutu nun. Graduate na ako ng four year course and im already 30.

    Hi Jeffrey,

Nakakatuwa namang makita na may mga tulad mo na gusto pa ring matuto ng mga bagong skill kahit na matagal nang tapos at nakalabas sa iskwela. Sa IT, lahat kami ay estudyante, sa lahat ng oras: every two or three years the technologies either advance or change totally so it’s a continuous learning experience for us.

I guess the first step is to get your hands on (legal ;) copies of Visual Studio. You could actually have it by downloading one of the editions of Visual Studio 2012 Express: http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/products/visual-studio-express-products

I’ll think you’ll want to get the Express for Windows 8 edition for your purposes.

For learning, Microsoft Philippines regularly stages free learning events at their office. Join these Facebook groups for updates: https://www.facebook.com/groups/phinug/, https://www.facebook.com/groups/140951506003892/ and for other events (Microsoft or not!) you can follow Devcon Philippines’s page: https://www.facebook.com/DevConPH

Hope to see you around in some of those events :)
